Resilience + Transformation
The solid black rectangle represents resilience, endurance, and transformation. Its simple geometry and visual weight can also suggest a clean slate following a period of change.
Duality + Balance
Two parallel lines represent duality and balance. The paired forms suggest opposing forces - light and dark, strength and vulnerability, past and future - existing alongside one another.
Spontaneity + Expression
The final tattoo combines the black mass and parallel lines with gestural, paint-like marks. Developed collaboratively with tattoo artist Tim Mueller, the composition brings together the ideas of resilience and transformation, duality and balance, and spontaneous expression -reflecting the philosophies of ‘Break Free’ and ‘Fear Normal.’
